​VISUAL STORYTELLER | ART DIRECTOR | PHOTOGRAPHER

 

Leanna Overbeck is an accomplished visual storyteller and art director with a refined aesthetic sensibility cultivated through high-profile production environments. Currently serving as a Production Assistant for acclaimed American photographer Mark Seliger, Leanna has developed expertise in delivering compelling art direction across print, digital, social media, and event platforms.

 

Most recently, Leanna photographed New York Fashion Week Spring 2025 for designers Giannina Azar and Paola Estefania, managing the entire process from shoot coordination to editing and distribution of all runway content. This experience has further sharpened her eye for exceptional visual narratives and strengthened her capacity to lead creative teams toward a unified vision.

 

LEADERSHIP | PUBLICATION EXPERIENCE 
 

As the Editor-in-Chief and photographer for Florida State University's Diverse World Fashion Magazine, Leanna led a talented team of over 200 individuals, overseeing the publication from concept to print. This role honed her skills in editorial leadership, creative concept development, budgeting, event organization, and print production management, while cultivating a collaborative environment that encouraged innovation.

 

Her role at Diverse World Fashion Magazine provided comprehensive experience in fashion journalism, trend forecasting, and the intricacies of publication management—fostering an enduring passion for the industry and a well-rounded perspective on the creative process.

 

EDUCATION | ARTISTIC ACHIEVEMENT

Leanna graduated Summa Cum Laude from Florida State University in December 2024, earning a Bachelor's in Studio Art with a Minor in Communications while completing the university's prestigious Honors Program. Her thesis explored the intersection of photography and Guatemalan textiles, culminating in an exhibition of seven large-scale woven photographic textile tapestries inspired by her experiences with Indigenous Mayan communities in Guatemala.

 

This culturally meaningful visual storytelling project earned Leanna the 2024 Excellence in Visual Arts Exhibition – Undergraduate Finalist Award and secured an exhibition in the Honors, Scholars, Fellows House.

 

MARKETING | CREATIVE DIRECTION

 

Leanna's professional background extends to serving as Creative Direction & Marketing Assistant at Narcissus Boutique, where she managed all social media content creation and developed expertise in marketing techniques and product photography. During this time, she produced and secured photoshoot publication in Tallahassee Magazine for two monthly issues.
